The MCM Studio is about the process of architectural work. This website was created in contrast to the final architectural project portfolio website.

"It’s inspiration that drives us, not job titles. We think of ourselves as a creative hub where Architects, Designers, and Planners come together and share ideas. Some of those ideas flourish into projects, and some are just part of the process. Whether it leads to a solution or not, every idea counts, and a chance to learn something new. New challenges are what we live for because they lead to the ‘aha’ moments that drive us. We like to nurture that inspiration with the little things that make it happen — opportunities for learning, self-care, free communication, and chances to relax and have fun. We design buildings for our clients, while the process is ours to enjoy. Many ideas, hundreds of drawings, milestones, and innovative thoughts brought together. That’s what we are."

The main goal was to communicate all the hidden work an architect performs on the way to the final project outcome. Additionally, we liked to show some insides into the companies mindset and passion. To highlight the creative visuals, which usually stay mostly unseen in the process, we decided to show these as full screen images, so they can't be missed again. This bold approach shows every detail of the creators work. The detailed project descriptions let us dive deep into the designers thoughts. Case studies show the thorough work an architect has to walk through in their process. MCM's architects asked me to make the website as messy as possible. Therefore we chose an unconventional menu in all four corners. Menu names like "more" instead of clear button names are intentional to make the user get lost on this website. We wanted to make the navigation a little bit more difficult than known in best practice, so that the viewer never fully absorbs the full potential of the page in only one visit. Unconventional, out of the box, labyrinthine might be a good description an architects world looks like on a daily bases on the way to the final project outcome.
